Wedding: Meet Our Associate Photographer Lisa Roy

Meet another RWP Associate Photographer! Lisa started shooting with RWP as a second shoot in 2016. From the start it was obvious LRoy would make an amazing Associate so when we started looking for more Associates, she was one of the very first that I asked.

While new to RWP, LRoy is not new to photography or weddings. She has been shooting weddings since 2009 and I’m pumped she’s joined our team. 🙂

Wedding Photographer Since: 2009
First Camera: I can’t remember the exact camera body, but it was a Canon film camera that was my sister’s. She gave it to me when I was in high school because even back then I loved taking pictures of events and friends.
Favorite Wedding Moment: My favorite wedding moment is usually the Father of the bride dance or any dance that the bride has with someone special her life. There is something so special about that those moments and I usually tear up.

Favorite Book: I don’t know that i have a favorite book at this point, but right now I’m excited to start reading Present over Perfect by Shauna Niequist. 
Music: My favorite group is Over the Rhine, but I love all kinds of music.
Favorite Food: Pizza!

What I’ve Learned Shooting Weddings: I’ve learned that I don’t want to just be there to snap beautiful photos, but that I also want to be there to help and support the couple on the day. Sometimes stress levels are really high especially if there are a few hiccups on the day, and so I want to help ease that as much as I can so that you can really just enjoy the day.

What Keeps Me Coming Back: I keep coming back, because I love getting to see two people joining their lives together. I think marriage is important and a beautiful thing and I’m so happy when I get to play a small part in the celebration.
