Happy Tuesday! If you missed our last post about why second and third shoots at your wedding are game changers, check it out here.
This past weekend I was reminded of the joy found in giving to those around you so I thought I would share something different…
While most weekends I’m traveling to different locations to shoot weddings, this past Friday and Saturday I was given the opportunity to work with a number of families in my own backyard connected to Outreach Community Ministries.
If you’ve never checked Outreach out, take some time today to explore their site. Their Mission is “To restore hope and provide opportunities for people to become all that God intends them to be; partnered with the local church to put Christian faith into action through service to the community,” and I believe Outreach does this exceptionally well so when they asked about coming in to do photos for some of their families again this year I was all in.
I got to just have fun with the families that came in. Tease the kids, work with Moms, Dads, Aunts & Uncles. For many of the families they had never had professional photos taken, everyone looked their best and were excited. I left reminded of God’s grace and goodness.
We all have different talents and gifts. Giving Back isn’t always about giving money, sometimes it’s about something even more important. It’s about giving our time to others. When we slow down and give our time and talents to others, we get to see the people around us and our worlds get a little bit bigger.
We all have something to give. What can can you give to those around you?
Till next time,
