Vendor Series 2020

I don’t know about you, but when I got married, I didn’t really know much about flowers. I wasn’t sure what I wanted and I certainly didn’t know what style would work best with our wedding plans so far.

I wish I would have known Jamie then!

Jamie and the Town & Country Gardens team have worked with a number of Watson Brides over the years. From your initial meeting with them, where they ask questions to learn about your vision for your wedding day to the final arrangements. They’re attentive, thoughtful and their work, beautiful every time. 😊

However, even more important is the heart behind the work that they do. 🙌

Check out the Q&A with Jamie below!

Q&A with Jamie at Town & Country Gardens

How did you get started in event florals?

Jamie: I started working for a local flower shop while still in high school. My then boyfriend (now husband) got me a job there. When I graduated high school, I started working at the shop full time while taking college courses. The shop did quite a few weddings and I absolutely loved doing set ups and working with the brides, so I started to work directly with the event staff. I have been doing this ever since!

What do you love most about what you do?

Jamie: My favorite part is watching ideas turn into reality…turning a multitude of Pinterest pictures and making them into real works of floral art. It is so rewarding to share my ideas with my clients, collaborate our ideas, then use the beauty of flowers and my talented design team to create the decor for their special event. Being able to be a part of someones very special day is the best!

When looking for a florist, what should every Bride know?

Jamie: As with every aspect of planning a wedding, you need to be familiar with your budget and level of service desired to match your budget. Some shops require that a certain amount be spent on flowers, others do not have minimums. The best piece of advice I believe I can give, is that you must feel comfortable with your florist and what they will provide. Flower shops do not only provide flowers but a service as well. So while the price and quality of the product are definitely factors in selecting a florist, you should also be thinking about the service you will have for the next several months as well as the day of the event. While your favorite florist may not be the least expensive, are they going to be the most responsive to my needs, paying attention both to the quality of flowers and the day of expectations. You should never feel like you are settling 🙂

What is the best part of using TCG?

Jamie: Oh goodness, so many things I think, lol! We have such a fabulous team here. Everyone from our wedding coordinators (the crew that comes to set up/take down) to the floral designers (they create the works of art) to the wedding consultants (they turn your Pinterest ideas into real ideas for our design team and truly act as your “floral BFF” through the whole process) to the management/owners of T&CG. We all work together to create some pretty amazing things. Our designers are so talented, everything from modern to traditional to edgy, they can do it all. Our consultants and coordinators are truly top notch and will go over and above to ensure your floral designs are everything you had hoped for. The owners and management are true supporters of everything we, as a wedding team, do for our clients! Lastly, we are family owned, so I think that brings a sense of coziness to all that we do, as we work for our clients as we would if they were family 🙂

What is your favorite thing to do in your free time?

Jamie: I love hanging with my kids and hubby! I am a mama to a 9 month old boy, Isaac and an almost 3 year old, Evelynne. We love to watch movies, have dance parties, do puzzles and we all love everything about being outdoors!

Hear it From the Expert, Our Watson Bride Cj

“Town & Country Gardens was the first and only place we looked at flowers! I called and scheduled an appointment to meet with Jamie, the wedding and event specialist. I brought my mother with me because she knows a lot about flowers (and I can barely keep an air plant alive). I had many ideas swirling around in my head of what I wanted the wedding bouquets to look like and brought some pictures for reference. Jamie immediately knew what arrangements to go with based on the look I was trying to create along with the flowers of the season. From that point on Jamie, my mom and I brainstormed ideas for boutonnieres, corsages, and flowers for the alter. In less than an hour I had my wedding flowers picked out! By the time the wedding day rolled around, Brian and I were doing our first look and I had completely forgotten there were flowers involved in our day. After our first look, our bridal party walked up carrying huge boxes of flowers and I was honestly blown away. The bouquets and boutonnieres were above and beyond my expectations! Jamie and her team did an amazing job assembling everything and making sure it got where it needed to be.”
