Have you ever heard of Mission Impossible?
I’ve got you. 🙂
First, this isn’t for everyone and that’s totally okay! Some couples love it, others don’t feel like it’s a good fit for them. My job as your wedding photographer is to make sure you know all your options. So with that in mind, here goes…
What is Mission Impossible?
Let me paint a picture for you… Your reception has just started, you’ve just made your grand entrance, cut the cake and then your guests hear your your DJ or Band leader say, “Hey! The Bride and Groom want to get a photo with each of you at your tables. They’re going to try to do it before the end of this song…”
Drop the theme song to Mission Impossible.
Guests get excited about then challenge.
Then you and your man dash table, to table, to table, with me following right behind. Now we have a photo of the two of you with each set of guests and it only took 4-6 minutes!
This is my #1 recommendation for couples who want to get photos with their guests. It’s fun, it’s high energy and most guests will have never done it before. 🙂 It’s the perfect way to kick off your wedding celebration. 🙂

FAQ about Mission Impossible
While this is such a fun way to kick off your wedding celebration, it’s also something not many couples have heard of! Here are just a few of the questions I get asked when I share Mission Impossible with couples…
When should we do Mission Impossible?
Such a good question! I recommend this order for your reception… Entrances & Cake Cutting followed by Mission Impossible. This way you know all your guests are in the room. We knock it out before speeches, food and while tables still look pretty. 😉
Do we have to use the Mission Impossible song?
You don’t have to! I’ve had other couples use the Hawks song too. However, I like the Mission Impossible song because it communicates with guests the purpose of Mission Impossible with less words. When the song drops, guests get it! They get excited and they hurry to get ready before you arrive.
How will guests know what to do?
Usually, the DJ or Band leader will announce Mission Impossible and they do a really good job of letting guests know what to do! However, if you have a second shooter, I’ll have them run a head just to make sure guests know where to stand. (Especially if you have larger center pieces!)
Do I have to do Mission Impossible?
Of course not! It’s your wedding day. I just like to share fun things I’ve seen with couples so y’all can make the best choice for you. 🙂 It’s your wedding day. We’re just here to help. 😉
I hope you found this post helpful! If you have other questions about Mission Impossible or have other questions you want to see answered here, always feel free to reach out! I can’t wait to hear from you. : )
