I don’t even know where to begin with Stephanie & Landon’s wedding day at the Hyatt Lodge—because truly, it was one for the books! From the moment we arrived, there was this joyful, peaceful energy around Stephanie, her family, and her girls. And despite a very hot June day and a little unexpected rain right at ceremony time, nothing could shake these two or their excitement to finally say “I do.”
Their ceremony was originally planned for the Grassy Knoll, but just as guests were arriving and Stephanie was stepping into her dress—it started to rain! It was the only rain all day, and yet in the middle of it, Stephanie’s response couldn’t have been more gracious. She said, “If the Lord wanted us to get married outside, it wouldn’t have rained. Inside is totally fine!” And with that, the celebration moved into the Grand Oak Pavilion and was just as meaningful, intentional, and joy-filled as ever.
Now, there are so many favorite moments I could share, but here are just a few that stood out the most to me:
1. Stephanie’s First Look with Her Dad
After getting ready with her mom and besties, we brought her dad in for the big reveal—and I’m not sure there was a dry eye in the room. The way he looked at his daughter, how tightly he hugged her… it was one of those moments you feel in your heart. You can tell they share such a close bond, and it was an honor to be able to document that memory for them.
2. Singing the Doxology During the Ceremony
This might have been one of the most personal and moving parts of the day. In the middle of their ceremony, Stephanie and Landon invited all their guests to stand and sing the doxology with them. The sound of voices rising together in worship, the meaning behind it, and the boldness it took to lead everyone in song—it was beautiful. Truly a reflection of who they are as a couple.
3. The Dance Floor Energy!
Stephanie is a lifelong dancer, and it showed! Her dance partner (yes, her dance partner!), Nordy, was actually the one who officiated the ceremony, and the celebration that followed on the dance floor was electric. So many of their friends are dancers too, so between the choreography, lifts, spins, and joyful energy, it was a blast to photograph. It felt like every few seconds something new and amazing was happening on the dance floor—and I was here for it!
