A Fall Wedding at Cantigny- Emily & Ian

This past Friday was such a beautiful day celebrating Emily & Ian’s wedding at Cantigny Park! From getting ready in the morning with Emily, to the couple’s first look in the Rose Garden, to the moment Ian saw his Bride walking down the aisle—it was a day filled with joy, love, and so many memories. I could just feel the anticipation and excitement all day long. And don’t even get me started on their first dance—you’ll have to scroll to see what I mean. ; )

Thinking back, if I had to choose just three of my favorite moments from Emily & Ian’s wedding day, this is what comes to mind:

#3. The surprise Bridesmaids’ dance!
As soon as the dance floor opened, Emily and her Bridesmaids rushed to the center, performing a choreographed routine they had been secretly planning. Flawless and full of energy, they set the tone for the entire evening and their guests loved it!

#2. The ceremony on the East Lawn.
Just as the couple was lining up for their ceremony, a light drizzle began. Emily & Ian decided to take the risk and keep their ceremony outdoors, and I’m so glad they did! Surrounded by family, friends, and a little rain, it became such a sweet and memorable part of their story—maybe even extra lucky. : )

#1. Ian’s reaction when Emily walked down the aisle.
I share this with couples often, but even if you do a first look earlier in the day, there’s nothing quite like the moment a Groom sees his Bride walking down the aisle. Ian’s reaction said it all—from joy, to laughter, to holding back tears—it was perfect!

Emily & Ian, THANK YOU so much for having myself and the RWP Team as your wedding photographers. We had the best time with you both and I just love the shots we captured together, even in the rain!
