April Edition
As I gear up for wedding season, I’m reevaluating the rhythms and systems in my life. I love what I do and I want to KEEP loving it years from now.
As I think about this, I keep coming back to something my coach told me in high school.
My senior year, I decided not to join the gymnastics team again. Instead, I helped lead a student recovery group called Life Hurts God Heals. Between that, two jobs, school, and college applications, I just knew I didn’t have the bandwidth.
I’ll never forget what my Coach said when I told him…
“That’s fine… but make sure you’re still doing something to stay active. You need structure in your life.”
And somehow, that stuck.
I’ve learned that thriving in busy seasons isn’t about doing less… it’s about having the right rhythms in place.
For me, that means keeping the right things in the right order of priority. Faith, Family, work so I can show up fully charged for our couples.
Lately, I’ve been focusing on one rhythm in each area…
Faith: Blake and I first met at church. A church that met at a local high school so EVERYTHING got set up and torn down each week. We have so many core memories from that chapter of our lives together, but the biggest takeaway for us was how much we loved serving together.
Lately, you can find us serving coffee every couple of weeks before the 9AM church service. It’s a little tricky to roll out of bed early after a wedding day, but so worth it. Serving with Blake is a rhythm I truly love.

We were babies in this photo! (Left side.)
Family: Tuesday night date night has officially been locked in for a while, but now that it’s starting to warm up…golf season is just about here!
After a 10 year hiatus post college, I picked my clubs back up a few years ago and I’m so glad I did! I love that Blake and I have something we both enjoy doing together. He may outdrive me, but I think I’m more consistent… so it all balances out. ; )

Work: Wedding days are mini marathons. Double header weekends, only for champions. And in my 30s… recovery days are very real.
To be honest, I fell out of the rhythm of working out this winter. But lately, I’m back at it. Back in the gym (Even doing some cardio… yikes!) so I can bring my best self to every wedding day.
These are just a few of the rhythms I’m focusing on in this season, helping me keep the right things in the right order.
Faith. Family. Our incredible couples.
What rhythms are you working on in life? I always love hearing from you. : )
Much Love,
