Honestly? I wish Blake and I had done this at our own wedding.
There were so many people there from completely different chapters of our lives and both sides of our families. Some were lifelong friends. Some were family friends we grew up around. Some were people who helped shape our story in quiet ways we probably didn’t fully appreciate at the time.
And now?
Some of those people have passed away.
Some we simply don’t get to see very often anymore.
Looking back, I truly wish we had a photo with every single person who was there that day.
Because while memories fade, photos don’t.
That’s a huge part of why we love Mission Impossible, Ballroom Dash, or whatever fun name couples decide to give it. Yes, it’s high energy. Yes, it’s fun. But underneath all of that?
It’s a chance to preserve the people who showed up for you. 🤍
See what Mission Impossible looks like in action here.

So… What Is It?
Traditionally, right after grand entrances and cake cutting, your DJ or band leader announces that the bride and groom are going to try to get a photo with every table before the end of a song.
Then? Cue the music.
While many couples use the Mission Impossible theme song… there are so many great song options!
From there, you two hustle table to table while we capture a quick photo with each group.
In just a few minutes, you’ve now connected with nearly every guest in the room and captured the memory.
Why We Love It
This is one of our favorite reception recommendations because it’s:
Guests love it because it feels fun and unexpected.
Couples love it because it dramatically increases the likelihood of getting a photo with everyone.
And as photographers? We love it because it creates genuine, joyful moments we get to capture.
Different Ways We’ve Seen Couples Make It Their Own
This is one of the best parts… there’s no one “right” way to do it.
Some couples:
The format can flex depending on your reception style. The core idea stays the same: fun, fast guest photos.
Our Top Reason for Recommending It
Honestly? It’s not just about the photos.
The biggest reason we recommend Mission Impossible or Ballroom Dash or Photo Challenge is because it helps our couples get those guest photos done in under five minutes, often before dinner even begins.
That means:
You actually get to relax. Dinner becomes a chance to:
Wedding days move quickly, and our couples don’t always get enough intentional downtime. This creates it.

Final Thoughts
Mission Impossible, Ballroom Dash, Photo Challenge… whatever you call it, this is one of those wedding day options that can add so much fun while also creating real breathing room.
It’s efficient. It’s memorable. And it helps you maximize both guest connection and intentional presence.
Because at the end of the day, wedding photos aren’t just about documenting what your wedding looked like.
They’re about remembering who was there to live it with you. 🤍
Much Love,
