Some wedding days are filled with beautiful details. Others are filled with unforgettable people. Meghan & Matt’s wedding day was the perfect combination of both.
From the moment I arrived, there was such an incredible sense of excitement surrounding these two. Between a flower girl who absolutely lived for the camera, one of the sweetest bridesmaid first looks, and a bridal party that was up for every adventure, the entire day felt joyful from beginning to end. Every detail reflected who Meghan & Matt are, making their wedding feel uniquely and authentically them.
If I had to narrow it down though, here are three of my favorite moments from their incredible day…
One of my favorite personal touches from the day happened during cocktail hour.
Instead of traditional background music, Meghan & Matt hired an accordion player as a tribute to Meghan’s grandfather, someone who played a huge role in her life and even taught her how to play the accordion herself. It was such a thoughtful way to honor his memory while sharing a piece of Meghan’s story with everyone celebrating alongside them. Guests absolutely loved it, and it was one of those details that made the day feel deeply personal.
#2. Matt’s Reaction as Meghan Walked Down the Aisle
There are moments at every wedding that never get old, and this is always one of them.
As the church doors opened and Meghan began walking down the aisle, Matt’s expression said everything. The emotion, the excitement, the love… it was impossible not to feel it alongside them. Watching these two see one another, surrounded by families who clearly adore them both, made for such a beautiful ceremony and one of my favorite memories from the day.
#1. Exploring Cog Hill Together
One of the things I had been looking forward to most was photographing portraits around Cog Hill, and it absolutely did not disappoint.
With so many beautiful locations surrounding the clubhouse, Meghan & Matt were completely up for exploring a few different spots, which always makes for the best portraits. While we created so many images I love, my favorite has to be the photos out on the golf course featuring their custom golf flag.
As a lifelong golf enthusiast, this location couldn’t have been more fitting for Matt. Meghan has recently started playing too, making it the perfect way to tie together their shared hobby with the place where they celebrated their wedding. It was such a fun, meaningful way to capture this season of their lives and create portraits that truly felt like them.
