A Summer Wedding at Itasca Country Club- Hannah & Dan

Getting to be back at Itasca Country Club this past weekend was so much fun. From the beautiful tree-lined drive to the perfectly manicured grounds, there truly isn’t a corner of this venue that isn’t stunning. When Hannah & Dan told me they would be celebrating their wedding here, I couldn’t wait for their day to arrive!

Hannah & Dan’s wedding this past weekend was truly special. It beautifully blended traditional Western wedding celebrations with meaningful Vietnamese traditions earlier in the day, making every part of their wedding feel so intentional. While there were so many moments I loved, here are the first three that come to mind…

#3. A Beautiful Vietnamese Tea Ceremony

The day began with a traditional Vietnamese tea ceremony at Dan’s aunt’s house, and I’m so glad Hannah & Dan chose to honor this tradition. From the procession of the men carrying gifts to the Bride’s family, to the tea ceremony itself and the celebration afterward, it was such a meaningful experience to photograph. One of my favorite parts of this job is getting to experience traditions from different cultures, so thank you both for including me in such a special part of your day.

#2. The Bouquet… and the Chandelier

Every wedding has one unexpected moment, and this one definitely delivered. When Hannah tossed her bouquet, it somehow landed perfectly… in the reception chandelier! Thankfully, her older (and much taller!) brother, Ben, was on it. He immediately came to the rescue so everyone could enjoy take two. It had the whole room laughing!

#1. Their First Look

There are few moments as special as a first look, and Hannah & Dan’s was one I’ll remember for a long time. Watching Dan turn around and see Hannah for the first time was so sweet, and the way he looked at her said everything. Some moments simply don’t need words. The photos tell the story all on their own.
