This past Saturday, I had the absolute joy of photographing Emily & Ben’s wedding day at the Hyatt Lodge, and it was truly stunning. The weather could not have been more perfect, the anticipation was high, and the subtle aviation details woven throughout the day were such a fun, personal touch.
While there were so many moments I loved, these are the three that have stayed with me most…
#3. Emily’s First Look with Her Dad
A first look with Dad is always emotional, but this one felt especially meaningful. It wasn’t just about seeing his daughter in her wedding dress for the first time. Before the day continued, he intentionally spoke words of encouragement, praise, and blessing over Emily. It was such a beautiful reminder of a father’s love, and I’m so grateful we were there to preserve those moments forever.
#2. Grandma as the “Flower Girl”
This was such a fun surprise! As Emily’s grandparents made their way down the aisle, Grandma proudly scattered rose petals, earning smiles and laughter from guests all around. It was such a thoughtful way to honor two people who have clearly meant so much to Emily throughout her life, and everyone absolutely loved it.
#1. A First Look with Personal Vows… Surrounded by Family
Private vows have become one of my favorite wedding day moments, but Emily & Ben added a beautiful twist. Instead of sharing them completely alone, they invited their families to witness this incredibly meaningful part of their day. Watching them exchange heartfelt promises while being surrounded by the people who love them most created such a powerful and unforgettable moment.
Emily & Ben, thank you so much for inviting me to celebrate alongside you. It was such a beautiful day, and I loved every minute of documenting the beginning of your marriage. I cannot wait for you to relive these memories through your photographs.
Now, grab a blanket and snuggle up. Your sneak peek is live!
