Some wedding days are filled with moments that make everyone smile, and Natalie & Patrick’s celebration at Cantigny Park was exactly that. From thoughtful personal details to a ceremony that had every guest fully present, their day was such a joy to document. Before we share their sneak peek, here are Cassie’s three favorite moments from the day.
3. An Entrance to Remember
The grand entrance into the reception was one of the most energetic I’ve ever photographed. Every member of the bridal party, and even the parents, came in with their own over-the-top entrance, and the room absolutely fed off their excitement. The highlight had to be triplet groomsmen who somehow managed to pull off a synchronized flip together as they entered. It completely set the tone for an incredible night and had everyone cheering before dinner had even started.
2. The Beautiful Hand-Painted Vases
The floral arrangements on the head table immediately caught my eye because of the gorgeous garden-inspired vases they were displayed in. I assumed Natalie had simply found them at a cute boutique, but during the reception, Natalie’s sister, Elise told me that Natalie had actually hand-painted every single one herself. They were absolutely stunning and made the perfect personal touch. Even more special, each bridesmaid got to take one home as a keepsake from the day.
1. The “Unplugged” Ceremony… with a Twist
I’ve seen a lot of unplugged ceremonies, but this was one of my favorites. Before officiating, Elise asked everyone to put their phones away and simply be present during the ceremony. But first, she gave everyone 30 seconds to pull out their phones one last time… not to take photos of the couple, but to take a selfie with the people sitting around them and send it to Natalie and Patrick. Within seconds, the ceremony space was full of smiling faces taking quick group selfies before everyone tucked their phones away. It was such a fun, thoughtful way to create a keepsake the couple will have forever while still keeping the ceremony completely unplugged.
Natalie & Patrick, thank you both so much for trusting our team to capture such an incredible day. It was an honor to tell your story, and we are so grateful we got to celebrate alongside you.
