Madison & Tim are MARRIED!!! And what an incredible day celebrating these two! From their beautiful ceremony at Christ Church in Oak Brook to their reception at the Hyatt Lodge’s Grand Oak Pavilion, their wedding day was filled with so much joy, meaningful moments, and a few surprises along the way! After photographing these two for their engagement session AND two mini sessions, getting to capture them as husband and wife was extra special! Here are three things I especially loved about their day!
#3. The Unexpected Bathroom Party! HA!
Okay, this one still makes me laugh! Before the wedding, Madison & Tim had mentioned being a little worried that guests might congregate near the bathrooms since they were a bit of a walk from the reception. Well, they definitely didn’t need to worry about their guests wanting to celebrate!
But just for fun, Madison’s sisters decided to stage a little “bathroom party” photo in the nearby lounge as a joke for the newlyweds to discover later! What started as a few people quickly turned into A LOT of people! HA! Madison & Tim caught on, and we ended up capturing some hilarious, spontaneous photos before everyone hustled back to the dance floor. I LOVE that their people were so ready to have fun with them!
#2. Remembering Madison’s Dad
One of the most meaningful parts of Madison & Tim’s wedding day was the thoughtful way they honored Madison’s dad. There were little touches of him woven throughout the celebration, each one so personal and special.
Madison carried small framed photos of her dad in her bouquet, her sisters placed little bouquets of tulips in his seat at the ceremony, and a memory table helped keep him close throughout the day. But one of my favorite moments was when they opened the dance floor with a fun, upbeat song he loved! Everyone who knew him joined together on the dance floor while those who hadn’t had the chance to meet him surrounded them. What a beautiful way to remember someone so loved, with joy, music, and everyone celebrating together.
#1. A Room Reveal Filled With Love!
I’ve photographed plenty of room reveals, but Madison & Tim’s was something special! The gorgeous florals, one of Madison’s favorite details, were created by a family friend. Seeing their vision finally come together was already exciting, but knowing just how much love had gone into making it happen made the moment even sweeter. There were happy tears, big hugs, and so much joy! What a beautiful way to begin their reception!
And those weren’t the only moments I loved! From popping champagne with the bridesmaids and capturing Madison & Tim’s private vows in the sunshine after their first look, to the bridesmaids’ sweet first-look hugs, their beautiful church ceremony, and even a Pittsburgh-style cookie table, their day was full of personal touches!
Madison & Tim, THANK YOU for trusting me to capture so many seasons of your story together! It has been such a joy getting to know you both, and celebrating your wedding day with you was the sweetest next chapter! I can’t wait for you to see more of these memories and relive all the fun!
