Vendor Series 2020

Oh! Who is that above? That’s me! 😃 Not the bride, two bridesmaids in!

Riverside Receptions is one of my favorite venues as a photographer, a bridesmaid and a wedding guest. The grounds are beautiful, there are gorgeous locations within walking distance and they take excellent care of their couples. 😊

When thinking about this series, I knew this had to be one of the vendors to include and do Q&A with!

Jessica did not disappoint. 😎 Check out the Q&A below to learn a little more of the heart behind Riverside Receptions and a few good questions to ask when looking for your perfect wedding venue. 🙌

Meet Jessica at Riverside Receptions

Q&A with Jessica

How did you get started in events?

Jessica: When I was in college, I did an internship with a local events rental company. While the company primarily specialized in renting tents, tables, chairs and linens, they also offered event coordination packages on the side. I quickly fell in love with coordinating and knew that’s what I wanted to focus on. I spent the summer with them after my internship as one of their Wedding and Events Coordinators and then joined the Riverside Receptions team after graduation!

What do you love most about what you do?

Jessica: I always love giving tours and getting to meet new couples but my absolute favorite thing is getting to set up decorations day of events. It’s great to see every couples’ personal touches and being able to help their visions come to life! Seeing the professional pictures after weddings are fun too-we love to see how months and months of work come together.

When looking for a venue, what should every Bride know?

Jessica: When choosing a venue, it’s always good to know what is included with the venue rental. Are there separate fees for the venue itself and catering? Are tables, chairs, linens and glassware included within those fees, or are they additional? Is catering an additional cost? What about coordinators and staff? Every venue does things just a little bit differently so narrowing down the venues that fit best with your vision and your budget is a great way to start.

What is the best part of having your wedding at Riverside Receptions?

Jessica: Riverside Receptions is really a one stop shop with exceptional staff. From start to finish you are working with our sales coordinators to design the wedding of your dreams. With all catering done through us, a custom designed wedding cake from The Cakery, including tables, linens, chivari chairs, complimentary centerpiece options, table numbers, cake stands and the perfect mix of vintage and modern décor, Riverside Receptions makes planning your wedding as simple as can be! Not to mention the panoramic floor to ceiling windows overlooking the Fox River-you can’t find a more gorgeous view year round!

What is your favorite thing to do in your free time?

Jessica: When I have free time, I like to relax with a new TV show or movie or spend time with my family, who all live around Geneva.

Hear it From the Experts, Our Watson Brides

“Riverside Receptions was a dream to work with. Seriously. Venue? Incredible. Food? SO GOOD. View? Beautiful. The staff? Attentive. My husband and I could not have asked for a better ceremony and reception location. They were a key part in making sure our wedding day was everything we wanted and more. Riverside should be a consideration for any bride in the area!”

“I loved that Riverside Receptions was on the river and that it had huge windows. I also liked that they offered buffet options and the food was really good! The venue itself had an older charm to it with the beautiful courtyard for a ceremony. It was the perfect space for our intimate wedding. They also offer a larger upstairs which is super cool. The people there were very kind, easy to work with and we had no hiccups. We would definitely recommend!”
