This past weekend Ashley & Brent got married at Cantigny and their day was TRULY beautiful! When I asked Cassie about her top three favorite moments from the wedding, this is what she had to say…
Stunning Locations:
Most of you know how much I [Cassie] adore Cantigny Park! So you can imagine my excitement when Brent and Ashley decided to have their beautiful wedding there, and let me tell you, it was everything I hoped for and more! We picked the keyhole garden for the bridal party portraits, and for Brent and Ashley’s portraits, we explored the east lawn, McCormick House, rose garden, and that iconic willow tree. And the weather? Absolute perfection—70 degrees and sunny! It felt like a dream come true! How did they manage to plan such amazing weather?
Sweet Details with Personality
Another standout moment for me was the creative incorporation of dental puns by Ashley and Brent, two dentists whose love story began in dental school. Their ceremony was a lighthearted celebration featuring clever phrases like ‘love at first bite’ and ‘from molar to molar, bicuspid to bicuspid.’ It was a perfect reflection of their shared passion for dentistry and their playful personalities. What really struck me was their choice of wedding favors— toothbrushes, floss, and travel-sized toothpaste, a practical yet humorous reminder of the importance of dental care. Throughout the event, there were gentle prompts to keep up with oral hygiene, ensuring that everyone left with not just happy memories, but also healthy smiles. It was a delightful touch that perfectly captured the essence of Ashley and Brent’s special day.
The Fusion of Cultures:
One of the highlights for me was seeing how this couple beautifully integrated both Vietnamese and Japanese traditions into their American-style wedding. Ashley’s hand-sewn áo dài was an absolute showstopper, representing Vietnamese culture with grace and elegance. The tea and sake ceremonies during the reception added such a special touch, honoring both heritages in a meaningful way. And let’s talk about those instant ramen and chopstick wedding favors—such a fun and clever nod to their backgrounds! It was all just so uniquely them.
