One of the best parts of being a wedding photographer is all the incredible people I get to meet who also serve couples on their wedding day! From your hair and make up artist, and florist to your DJ, these are just some of the people I get to tag team the day with and I’m so grateful for each of them!

With that in mind, I’m kicking off a new series today highlighting just a few of our favorite people. People who truly want to get to know their couples and serve them on their wedding day. : )

In this series, you’ll find Q&A with someone from the Team AND a review from one of our Watson Brides. I hope this series will be helpful to you as you plan and share this with your newly engaged friends!

Starting us off, Tony Ho and his team at Sounds Abound!

Since starting out in 2014 I’ve gotten to do over 20 weddings with Sounds Abound and it’s truly a pleasure every time. : )

Tony Ho and the team at Sounds Abound truly care about their couples, their individual needs for their wedding day and are masters at keeping the dance floor packed!

Q&A with Tony Ho from Sounds Abound

Q: When did you first start to DJ and what do you love most about working with couple’s today?

A: I first started to DJ when I was in 8th Grade. How else do you go to the dance without a date? LOL… I LOVE the input and how couples value the importance of music as part of their day. Bringing that vision to life through music and vibes is something I am so passionate about. 

Q: What other services do you offer?

A: We offer photo booths, uplighting, and have also provided monograms and cold sparks! Oh my!

Q: What is one thing every couple should ask their DJ?

A: What do you LOVE most about what you do? The answers will give you a little insight into what they are passionate about. 

Q: What sets Sounds Abound apart from other companies out there?

A: Being extremely customer focused. We strive to provide the highest level of customer service! With our experienced staff, we will be there to guide you along the wedding planning process all the way to the big day. We value as much input as possible to create a truly customized and memorable experience for our clients. 

Q: What song gets you on the dance floor every time?

A: As the DJ, I’m rarely on the dance floor!! ; ) With that being said, my all time wedding jam is going to be “September” by Earth Wind & Fire! It’s a great song and just makes me happy!

Q: Do you have a favorite memory from a recent wedding?

A: This is actually a challenging question for me since I could probably start a podcast just talking about all my favorite memories!! But until I do, I had a couple recently stop into the venue during our setup time. It was their 8th Anniversary and they wanted to see their reception space once again. I had never met them and was not their DJ back in the day. As a DJ who LOVES creating moments and memories, I asked the couple what their first dance song and played it giving them a chance to dance together once again as they did 8 years ago. Happy Anniversary!

“Sounds Abound was an absolute pleasure to work with throughout our whole wedding experience.  After seeking out lots of reviews and checking out DJ profiles, we knew that we needed to book Tony Ho of Sounds Abound.  Tony is a class act, and it is clear he holds himself to a high standard of performance, and yet he is incredibly approachable and relaxed in his craft.  We ended up booking Tony for not only his DJ services, but as our officiant for our wedding ceremony.  My husband and I really wanted an outside ceremony focused on our love story, rather than specific religious elements.  Tony met with us and took the time to understand our vision and vibe for both our wedding ceremony and reception, and he truly matched it spot on for us.  For our ceremony, Tony asked both my husband and I questions about our relationship separately and crafted a beautiful ceremony that told our love story in both of our words and was very intimate and emotional for everyone.  I will never forget the way our separate responses to our questions melted together and further displayed our love being so in tune and meant to be.  We received so many compliments for our ceremony, and it truly touched everyone and helped them understand us as a couple even more.  As for the wedding reception, the music blended beautifully, and the dance floor was consistently packed with guests!  Our wedding venue went until 1:30 AM, making me skeptical that we would hold guests until the end, but Tony truly made it happen!  The dance floor was so much fun and included a perfect mix of songs to get guests of all ages on the floor celebrating.  To sum it all up, Tony Ho and Sounds Abound were such a perfect choice for us for our wedding!  We are so grateful we chose them for such special moments of our lives, and it makes our wedding day full of sentimental, fun memories that will last a lifetime!”
