An Associate Wedding by Cassie at Chevy Chase Country Club: Kim & Joe

This is a sneak peek I am SO EXCITED to be posting! When I asked Cassie about her top three favorite moments, this is what she had to say…

While there were many things that were incredible about Kim and Joe’s wedding day—like the couple sharing a heartfelt first touch with both of their parents by their side and Kim’s mom, Karen, praying over them before they walked down the aisle. Joe’s emotional reaction to seeing Kim for the first time as she walked down the aisle was incredibly moving, and I can’t forget Kim’s GORGEOUS florals! The bouquets and arrangements, overflowing with dahlias, ranunculus, and roses in shades of pinks and corals, were nothing short of breathtaking.

But… if I had to pick my top three favorite moments of the day, these would be the ones that truly stood out:

1. A Treasured Heirloom: Kim’s Grandmother’s Veil
One of the most memorable details was the veil Kim wore—a delicate, time-worn piece that belonged to her grandmother. This veil, was entirely original, bearing the marks of time and the stories of generations past. Kim chose to honor her family’s legacy by wearing this cherished heirloom, adding a layer of history and sentiment to her wedding day. It was a touching tribute that made her walk down the aisle even more special.

2. A Full Circle of Love: Kim and Joe’s Church Ceremony
Kim and Joe exchanged vows in the same church where Kim’s parents were married, creating a beautiful sense of continuity and tradition. Standing beneath a wooden cross lovingly crafted by Kim’s grandfather, they began their journey together just as her parents had done years before. This connection to the past, paired with the beginning of their own love story, made the ceremony deeply personal and incredibly moving.

3. A Touch of Nostalgia: The Chevy Chase Country Club Reception
The reception took place at Chevy Chase Country Club, a venue that holds a special place in my own memories. I attended two proms there in high school, and returning for Kim and Joe’s wedding felt like a walk down memory lane. Though the space has been beautifully remodeled, there was something strangely familiar about being there again. Capturing the joy and love of Kim and Joe in a place that was once a backdrop for my own youthful memories made the evening even more unique and special.
