Steph and Zack’s journey to engagement is nothing short of magical. Their story began at Illinois State University thanks to Zack’s older brother – a mutual connection who set the stage for a beautiful future when he invited Steph over to a summer bonfire with friends.
Zack showed up tired, but when he saw Steph, he knew he needed to meet her. Next year at ISU, they both ended up on the same floor and their connection continued to grow through college corridors, enduring and deepening with each passing semester.
Nervous to shift the dynamics of their friend group, the two secretly dated for a few months to see if this friendship really was something more. It didn’t take long for them to realize it was, and their friends couldn’t have been happier for them. : )
Fast forward through shared laughter, study sessions, and graduation caps thrown in the air, their bond transitioned from friendship to love… On June 7th, Zack turned their ordinary long weekend with friends and family into a moment they would reminisce about forever.
While Steph was on the boat, Zack was crafting a moment of surprise back at the lake house, his brother and ally, keeping Steph on the lake till Zack was ready.
With rose petals leading to the boat house’s top patio, and candles flickering softly alongside a red runner, the stage was set for a proposal as breathtaking as their love story. As Steph disembarked, the path lined with petals and the glow of candlelight led her to Zack, standing ready at the end with his heart open and a question that would forever change their lives.
