Confetti, Champagne & Smoke. Three things you can add to your wedding or engagement photos so they’re uniquely you and capture the joy of this season. 🙂
These are fun things I love and I hope after checking this post out, you’ll feel inspired to get creative too. 🙂
One of the first times I saw this, it was actually a videographer that brought the confetti poppers and I LOVED the final result.
I love the added color to these shots and I love how accurately it captures the joy of this moment.
There are few things like a Bride getting ready in the morning. All the anticipation, all the excitement. Confetti is the perfect way to visually capture it. (And it’s just fun!)
Pro Tip: You can even find bio-degradable confetti, like Jennifer & Marcin!
A lot of my Brides will have mimosas in the morning. Save a bottle for when we arrive! Similar to the confetti, popping a bottle of Champagne with your Bridesmaids is a fun celebratory shot and it’s true to you.
One of the questions I often get before popping Champagne together is, “How do we make it really fizzy?”
This is such an awesome question! I’ve found the best way to do this, is to really shake it up before popping it. Sometimes it can feel a little nerve-wracking to shake it up, but it adds to the anticipation and the final shot.
Once you’ve popped it, keep shaking it! We can often get a couple of shots out of one bottle. 😉
Pro Tip: I recommend going outside for this. Back patios or driveways are usually an awesome spot for this. Especially, if they’re concrete! Concrete reflects beautiful light back up at you so it looks like your photos are right out of a magazine.
I mean look at those faces!
I love how romantic these shots can be. I’ve only gotten to use colored smoke a few times, but there is so much potential!
I love this option because of the color it adds to your wedding photos. (Especially, in the Winter!) More than that, I feel like it accents the emotion of your photos in a way that few other things can.
Joy, romance, excitement, mystery. This idea adds to all of them. 🙂
If you choose to add colored smoke, here are a few things you’ll want to have on hand.
If you want to use colored smoke, I recommend getting a couple extra and testing them out before your wedding. While I’ve never had an issue with smoke staining clothing, this way you can know for sure and feel confident on your wedding day.
I hope this post gave you some fun ideas! There are so many options out there. 🙂 Don’t be afraid to be creative or try something new! You never know what you’ll end up loving. 🙂
